This week and next we are focusing on the story ”The Enormous Turnip’. We have been looking at different vegetables – naming them, ordering them by size and weight and using them to print repeating patterns.

In phonics we have been focusing on initial sounds. You could support this learning at home by playing ‘I spy…’ with your child.
In mathematics we have been learning about the number one. We know that one is a single unit, and the size of the thing being counted does not matter.

Look out in bookbags next week for your first school reading books being sent home. Please do read and enjoy these books with your children at home, but ensure they are in bookbags every day for school so that we can read with them also. Reading books will be changed every Monday.

Show and tells for Friday 4th October
are Cillian, Clara and Dylan. Please talk with your child about what they want to bring in so they have lots to tell us about it.
