This week has been our last week enjoying “The Enormous Turnip’. We have been ordering the story and practising our cutting skills to chop vegetables and make soup. We were so proud that all of the children tried the soup, and so pleased that so many of them enjoyed it.

In phonics we have been focusing on blending and segmenting sounds. We have been using our best robot voices to find things in the classroom. If your child has been enjoying I spy at home, this week you could change the way you play the game by segmenting the word in order for them to blend it. For example “I spy a c-a-t”.
In maths we have been learning that when another one comes along, we have two. We know that 2 is a one and another one, and that one and another one make two. See what you can find two of at home.

Show and tells for Friday 11th October are Eli, Elodie and Ethan. Please talk with your child about what they want to bring in so they have lots to tell us about it.
