This week we have been reading Leaf Man and enjoying our natural world. We started the week by making a leaf hedgehog to be a friend for leaf man. Since then, we have done lots of counting with natural objects and we have also played a game where we have compared the different shapes and sizes of leaves and found out their names.

In phonics we have been learning a, t and p. There are practise sheets in bookbags to help your child with their letter formation. You could begin at home to start sounding out words using the sounds ‘s’, ‘a’, ‘t’ and ‘p’ such as ‘tap’ and ‘sat’.
In maths we have continued our work on 1, 2 and 3. We have been using these numbers in the context of first, second and third.

Show and tells for Friday 8th November are James A, James S and Jasper. Please talk with your child about what they want to bring in so they have lots to tell us about it.

Enjoy half term, and make sure you all relax! The children are all very tired after this first half term and are certainly ready for it. Mrs Rothera has now left to have her baby. We will miss her very much but wish her luck with her little one.
See you all again in November!
