Bishopdale – Week 9

This week we have been reading ‘Sparks in the Sky’ and indulging in learning experiences related to Bonfire Night. We’ve learned all about fire safety and created firework artwork, soundscapes, 2D shape models and dances.

In phonics we have been learning i, n, m and d. Please keep encouraging your children to be spotting these sounds in their books and surroundings and begin to blend them together to make short words.
In maths we have been learning all about the number 4. We know that 4 is 3 and 1, 2 and 2 and four 1’s. We know that four can be a square, but it can also look different.

Show and tells for Friday 15th November are Lucie, Lumen and Nathaniel. Please talk with your child about what they want to bring in so they have lots to tell us about it.

On Wednesday 20th November we are having a tiger tea party. You are invited to come to school at 2pm to share a biscuit with your child and then spend some time with them in the classroom. The children will be making invitations for you next week but I wanted to give you advanced notice. Looking forward to hopefully seeing you there!
