Headteacher’s Blog.

Before looking ahead to this week I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the friend’s entry in the Knaresborough Bed Race on Saturday. The bed and team looked amazing and they looked the part as they raced past me on the course. The photos below show the bed and the team before and during the race. We will let everyone know how much money the team managed to raise when we have a total.

This week is a very busy one with lots of trips taking place. On Tuesday Coverdale, Nidderdale and Swaledale Classes will all be attending Countryside Day at the Great Yorkshire Showground. Back at school Simon will be leading worship for the rest of the school.

On Wednesday Coverdale are heading off to the Danelaw Viking Village. At the same time the pupils from year 6 will be attending the Crucial Crew event.

Please note that the New Starters Parent’s Meeting which was due to take place on Wednesday 15th June has been moved to Wednesday 22nd June. Everyone due to attend has been contacted directly but by including it in the headteacher’s blog I hope to make sure that nobody turns up at 6pm expecting a meeting.

On Thursday the children from Wharfedale and Wensleydale will be travelling to the Grand Opera House in York to enjoy a performance of the Horrible Histories Show.

At the start of the week the children in Swaledale will all be presented with a pedometer supplied by ASDA as part of their sponsorship of our sports day. The whole class will try to measure how many steps they take during a week in school.

Finally, next week is a special sports week in school with lots of special activities and visitors organised by Mrs Saunderson. Part of this is our annual sports day which will take place on Monday 20th June starting at 1pm. I look forward to seeing you there.

A Symonds
