Before we look to the week ahead I would like to thank everyone who gave their time last week to support our special sports week. The children had a wonderful time and enjoyed a huge range of sports. Special thanks go to Mrs Saunderson who organised the whole week brilliantly. Congratulations to team Australia who won our sports day to make up for their defeat in the rugby. Team Ethiopia was 2nd with a tie between team Belgium and team USA in 3rd.

Onto this week; on Monday we welcome Richard Whitely from Bilton library who will be launching this year’s summer reading challenge during our worship time. At the end of the day Coverdale/Wharfedale and Wensleydale classes will be selling cakes for the friends.

On Tuesday Airedale and Bishopdale will be planting with Ian Johnson from Seedlings for Schools. Ian has worked with every class during the year and this will be his last visit. I would like to thank him for all of his help and support over the year.

On Wednesday some of the September new starters in Bishopdale class will be making their first visit to the school. In the afternoon Sadie Spencer, our new singing and piano teacher will be introducing herself to the children.

Thursday sees Airedale and Bishopdale Classes go on their trip to Harewood House whilst Nidderdale and Swaledale Classes enjoy a special jungle day which will include an afternoon visit from Zoolab. After school our rounder’s team will be taking part in the rounder’s competition at Harrogate Grammar School.

The photographs below were taken on sports day.

A Symonds.
