Headteacher’s Blog Monday 6th June 2016.

The end of the last half term was a very busy one which we need to celebrate. Both the year 3/4 tennis team and the Yr1/2 Quad Kids teams have qualified from their town school competitions and will now complete in regional competitions this half term.

The children from Nidderdale and Swaledale did a magnificent job in hosting their tea party to raise funds for the Blue Cross dogs charity. Thank you to all of the parents who helped with the baking and attended the event. The total raised will be confirmed early next week but is well over £200.

Despite the fact that this Monday is a staff training day we are squeezing a lot into this week. On Tuesday the children from EYFS will take take part in their vision screening programme.

On Wednesday the children from Nidderdale and Swaledale will be visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

On Thursday many of our after school sporting clubs will start again; this includes the cricket club.

On Friday we will be holding a special red, white and blue French themed non-uniform day to celebrate the friends’ participation in this year’s Knaresborough Bed Race which takes place on Saturday 11th June. The theme of our teams bed is Nice France and the decorated bed will be in school on Friday with the team offering rides on the bed for 50p. Anyone who wishes to sponsor our magnificent team can do so via the just giving page link below.

The team are still looking for one more person willing to help out as a team steward on the day. If you can help please let the team know via the school office.

The photos below show the yellow jumper winners from the last week of half term and the children from Nidd and Swale hosting their Blue Cross tea party.
