Welcome To Coverdale’s New Blog

Monday, today we learnt the value of five digit numbers. We had to answer in full sentences. We also got our first lot of spellings to practice at home, not just at school! We have had fun writing our targets. It has been a fun day!

Tuesday, Miss Sherwood taught us. We read a short story called How the Sea Became Salty. We wrote the moral of it. Some of the morals were about not being greedy. In maths, we learnt the value of six digit numbers. We love learning about six digit numbers!

Wednesday, Miss Sherwood was teaching us. We read some postcards. Then we wrote our own postcards. (The postcards that we read was inspirational for the ones we wrote.) We compared six digit numbers. Like 573,689 and 573,895. We had to find out 5 facts about Mars.

Thursday we made a special card for a big birthday, we also had P.E with Mrs Styles. We have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1,000 or 10,000.

Friday, we did a google hangout with a NASA Scientist Jacqueline who studies the planet Mars. These are some facts about Mars: Mars is also known as ‘The RED PLANET’, Mars is named after the Roman god of war, Mars doesn’t have any oceans; it has nearly the same amount of land as Earth, Mars is the 4th planet from the sun and is the 2nd smallest planet in the solar system. We had an assembly for Mr Symonds to wish him a Happy 50th Birthday.

We would also like to wish Mrs Fleming good luck on her 5 day Arctic Trek in Sweden next week raising money for Supporting Dogs.Org who train and provide assistance dogs for adults and children with Epilepsy and Autism. If you would like to know more please visit:-
