Welcome Back To Coverdale’s Blog

Monday, we had a 5X table test in which we all did quite well. In maths, we were focusing on rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 and even sometimes the nearest 100,000. After Lunch, the class did a little task that was about maths. We completed it to open a case; not just any case though… A SPECIAL SCIENCE CASE! We all love science! We are the first people in the world to get one of these cases!! Everyone was pleased to see Mrs Fleming back; she says that her feet feel like they’ve been savaged!

Tuesday, the NSPCC came to talk to us. In literacy, we were looking at a balanced argument. This time we did the negative side of the argument. Our balanced arguments are about whether or not we should go sailing around the world for 6 months.

Wednesday, we did the positive side of our balanced arguments. We came up with all sorts of positive ideas. We have been reading a bit of Kensuke’s Kingdom where Michael and his family are setting off on their journey.

Thursday, we had our editing workshop. The class split into groups and went to different editing stations where our teacher had written our success criteria. Some of the groups had year 6 work!

Today we are going to Gospel Hall. We are so excited! Also, we have an author coming in she is called Robert Stevens.
