COVERDALE BLOG

Monday, today we have been doing some outdoor activities with the handy science bag. We explored the hedgerows with our magnifying glasses. We have been doing our bar models in math and we received our arithmetic mental math books. We all are enjoying the books.

Tuesday, today we have been doing the column method in mathematics. It has been a great day for the year 5/6. They did an NSPCC workshop. In worship, Mrs Crisell handed out some of the certificates for the reading challenge this year. The reading challenge theme was The Beano ( A.k.A The mischief makers.)

Wednesday, today in our mathematics we have been doing bar models. I wish we could do 6 digit numbers in column edition! We are having a blast with our column addition! We are doing very well and are really enjoying it. The school council are discussing school dinner and if they like them. Pizza is the most popular choice of food, the tacos are quite good too.

Thursday, today we have been doing a really important piece of work about the sea. We have been really concentrating on the piece of really important work and will be doing it again tomorrow as well. Please feel free to ask about any shades of blue (we know a lot of different shades) you’ll be really impressed.

Tomorrow we will continue with our mixture of maths and literacy. Some guided reading groups will get the chance to complete their tasks set during the week. Have a great weekend.
