Monday 18th February

Today in literacy we worked on our Nidd Gorge Poem. In maths we looked at decimals. We had a visit from Sarah Haynes from the Harrogate and Ripon Bee Keeping Society. We looked at how a hive works and the role of each type of bee. We tasted some different types of honey.

Tuesday 19th February

Tuesday we marked our mental maths and continued with our decimals. In ICT we used the wordle creator using our inspirational words about the Nidd Gorge.

Wednesday 20th February

In Art today we looked at photographs of snowdrops and used pastels to draw our own. They looked fantastic!

Thursday 21st February

Space Camp Day! Harrogate Football came to see us and we did exercises to improve our fitness. We had a guided reading session about telescopes. The afternoon was a Google Hangout with Jacqueline who talked to us about stars, plasma and the proton chain.

The Staff set up our space camp base in the hall with our pop up tents. We are the first group of children to stay overnight at school so we made our own RTS History. What a fantastic night Coverdale Class had. We made constellation projector books and had another Google Hangout with Jacqueline where we impressed her with our knowledge. A bedtime story followed for us all and after some shuffling – sleep!

Friday 21st February

Our last day at school started with a tent walk and then a fantastic treat of cereals and bacon butties kindly cooked by Jo who came in early for us. What a brilliant end to the term.

The Staff want to thank Coverdale Class for a fantastic sleep over and we hope that you will remember it for years to come. KEEP EXPLORING!
