15th June: Hello to this week’s Learning at Home!

14 June 2020, Comments: 0

We hope you enjoyed our Sports
week. So many of you had a really active week and gave us some great ideas for next year’s sports day. The activities will be judged by Mrs Warburton and Mrs Saunderson. It’s not too late to send them to Dentdale’s email address.

** TOP NEWS STORY: STAR OF THE WEEK REVIVED! **

Each week we will celebrate Dentdale children’s efforts. This week we celebrate the work that Poppy and Jayden have been doing at home. They work on a great range of the activities with such enthusiasm and keep on learning. We are very proud of them.

Our theme this week is Science.

Our activities are posted on Seesaw but some need to be acted on quickly this week:

* Great-science-groove-along (posted on Friday to give you time to practise!)

* Science at work – past and present:

* What is your favourite science activity so far?

*Who is your favourite scientist?

*Mystery Science: Are Unicorns real?

*Bubble competition (whole school)

Handwriting– We would like you to make big effort with this – standards are slipping! Don’t forget perfect punctuation too…. we see too many sentences without capital letters and full stops.

Spellings/phonics: homophones (eg.wear/where) Look at the activities on seesaw amd choose 5 pairs of homophones to learn… challenge yourself!

Maths this week Keep using maths games to practise key skills.

Our daily maths activity is on BBC Bitesize:

*Our maths game this week is Little Piggy…. Dare you play!

Keep safe and well!

Love from Mrs Phelan and Mrs Jackson x
