The festive season is now in full swing at RTS. Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair, it was a huge success and I look forward to letting you all know the final total at some point in the coming week. Monday is the deadline for returning your Christingles to school; they are being collected by Dr Johnson in preparation for the special Christingle Services being held at St John’s on Sunday 16th December which will mark the 100th anniversary of the Children’s Society.

On Monday and Wednesday afternoons this week we will all be enjoying our Nativity Performances in the hall; parents are all reminded that we will be entering the hall through the hall doors which face the car park and not through the main entrance which remains under construction. At the end of our performances parents who wish to may collect their children from the normal classroom doors; please remember this is only children involved in the nativity and not our junior children who will leave as normal at the end of the school day at 3.15pm. Parents are free to leave their children in class after the performances and collect as normal at the end of the school day.

Tuesday afternoon sees our Choir head up to the Bilton Methodist Chapel where they will be entertaining people attending the chapel Christmas lunch club. The children will return to school before the end of the school day.

After school on Wednesday is the last Yr5/6 football tournament at Harrogate High School. The children attending have had a great time and I hope to see them ending on a high with some good results.

On Thursday the children in year 6 will be hosting our own community tea for the local community from 2pm complete with mince pies and carol singing.

Friday is the busiest day of the week, it is our Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch Day. In addition to this the children can bring their own Santa Hat to participate in our own mini Santa Fun Run around the playground during the morning.

If you are looking for some peace and quiet reflection our Friends Prayer Group will be meeting at 2.30pm.

There is still time to bring in items for our Baby Hampers before the end of term next week. The list of items needed can be found at the back of the last school newsletter.

The photographs below are last week’s yellow jumper winners and some of the year 5/6 Christmas Games.
