The new term is very much up and running as we begin the 2nd week of the school year. I would like to start by thanking all of the children who gave up their time on Sunday to play their part in the Education Sunday Service at St John’s Church. They did a wonderful job leading prayers and Bible readings wonderfully.

This week begins with the first Friends meeting of the school year starting at 7pm; if you are coming along please head to the hall doors off the car park where someone will let you in. There is a lot to organise with the Harvest Festival and Macmillan Coffee Morning on the horizon and I hope to see you there. If is a great way for new parents to get involved in the life of the school and meet other mums and dads.

On Tuesday we welcome Andy Patrick to lead our worship on the theme of responsibility. On Wednesday after school we will be taking a group of year 3/4 children to take part in the Sporting Influence football competition being held at Harrogate High School. Look out for permission letters on Monday.

This week we also welcome Ruth Nicholson and Alex Bentham to RTS they are both trainee teachers spending a week in a primary school to gain experience and will be working in a range of classrooms.

Congratulations to Jack Norton for being the first child in school to be awarded a values leaf for friendship this term. His values leaf will be the first to be hung on our values tree for the start of next week.

Finally thank you for your support and understanding as we get used to the arrangements for our entrance building programme. Work is due to begin in the next few weeks and will hopefully finish at the end of the Autumn Term.
