Thank you to everyone who supported the school last week with the cake sale and World Book Day. The photo at the bottom of this blog and on the website show what a fantastic response we had with some amazing costumes.

This week is the 2nd week of Fairtrade Fortnight in school and we are half way to our goal of selling 90 one Kg bags of rice to support the education of a child in Malawi. If you have not yet purchased your bag please let the office know. As part of this week’s activity all of the classes will be given 5 fairtrade ingredients and be challenged to bake a cake using all of the ingredients provided. Our decorate a door competition will be judged on Friday as we end our fairtrade celebrations.

Onto this week. On Monday we welcome Ryan from Sporting Influence back to school for week seven of our sports numeracy project in the morning. On Tuesday morning Claire Bassingdale from St Aidan’s will be working with classes in the hall. At lunch time it will be week two of our Fit4Life club. We look forward to welcoming Rev Andy Patrick to lead our worship at 1.15pm. Choir practice will be after school.

Our Dodgeball team will be at Harrogate High School for the 2nd week of their competition whilst Tag Rugby and Netball clubs are being held at school.

On Thursday the team from Harrogate High School will be visiting those children transferring to Harrogate High School in September 2018. Tea and Cakes will be held on Thursday this week instead of Friday. Mike Stokes will be back to lead chess club after school.

On Friday morning PCSO Will Champion will be in school from 9am to security mark any bicycles which the children bring in; please remember that bikes will only be marked if a completed permission slip has been returned. Also on Friday Mrs Simpson and Mrs Warburton will be taking our year 6 debating team to this year’s competition. Finally the friends prayer group will be meeting in the staffroom at 2.30pm on Friday. All are welcome but if you are unable to attend and would like your prayers to be included please leave a slip in the prayer box which is in the entrance hall.

The photos below show the yellow jumper winners from last week as well as a photo from world book day and the fairtrade visit to ASDA.
