This is my final Blog Post of the academic year 2018 and I would like to start by thanking all parents and carers for the support that they have given to their children and to the school over the school year.

Thank you to everyone who supported the school at the St John’s Summer Fair last Saturday; the chocolate tombola raised £108 for school funds and the choir entertained visitors to the event.

It is wonderful to start the last blog post with the fantastic news that our veg box gardening club have won the Great Yorkshire Show Veg Box Competition for 2018 beating 27 other schools from across Yorkshire. The photo below shows the team with their Trophy at the show. The school would like to thank Mr Groves for all of his support and advice over the last few weeks as our children have learnt how to be champion veg growers.

This week is always a very busy one with lots to enjoy. On Monday we will be celebrating our last set of yellow jumper winners and super pupils in worship time where we will be joined by the Chatsworth Dance Group who will be performing for the school.

On Tuesday morning the children from Ribblesdale and Dentdale will be meeting the visiting children’s author Eleanor Mckone. In the afternoon we welcome our guests to the summer community tea which starts at 2pm. On Wednesday the children from year 6 will be enjoying their leavers’ lunch before rehearsing their leavers’ service at St John’s in the afternoon.

Thursday sees the children from Yr3/4 who took part in the football club run by Harrogate Town FC visiting the CNG stadium for a guided tour and opportunity to play on the astro- turf pitch. Parents of the children involved will receive a separate letter containing further information on Monday.

On Friday everyone is invited to the school’s leavers’ service at St John’s Church starting at 10.30am. In the afternoon the children in year 6 will end their time at RTS with the traditional rounders match before we finish for the summer holidays at 2.15pm.

On Sunday 22nd the school field will host the re-arranged Bilton Gala. The summer holidays will see preparations continue for the Entrance Hall building project. More information about this will be sent out to all parents in the final newsletter of the school year.

The photographs below show the veg box winners and the yellow jumper winners from last week.

I hope that the sunshine that has blessed the summer term at RTS continues to shine throughout the six week break and I look forward to seeing you all in September 2018
