We have reached the last week of the first half term and before we break for a rest we are squeezing a lot into the last week. Before we look ahead we need to celebrate achievements from last week. Our year 3/4 football team remain undefeated after 2 weeks of competition at Harrogate High School; the children have been a real credit to the school in their sportsmanship and enthusiasm; thanks to all of the parents who have supported the team. We also need to congratulate Lucy Everson who came first in the year 4 girls Harrogate Cross Country Competition and qualified for the regional finals in 2018; she will be joined by Honor Worrell who also qualified for the finals. The rest of our entries performed brilliantly but didn’t qualify for the next stage of competition.
As you will be aware the school was inspected under the SIAMS framework for church schools, the final report will appear after half term and we very much look forward to sharing the results with you.
On Tuesday at 1.15pm we will be walking to St John’s to take part in our rededication service. Everyone is welcome to join us for the first service of the year. After school on Tuesday we will be holding our first parents evening session.
On Wednesday the school’s sports leaders will be visiting Harrogate Golf Club for some free coaching during the afternoon. After school we will host our second parents evening session.
On Thursday Wharfedale and Wensleydale Classes will be visiting the Methodist Chapel to explore their prayer stations. This was started last year and enjoyed by all of the children; on Friday morning it will be the turn of the other junior classes to enjoy the prayer stations.
We will end the term by celebrating our second set of super pupils.
Thank you to everyone for making the last half term so enjoyable. Have a lovely half term and see you all on Monday 30th October.
