Before we look ahead to what is happening in school this week I would like to thank all of the children who took part in the Education Sunday Service at St John’s Church on September 15th. It was a great celebration of the work of schools in our community.

On Monday work will begin on the installation of decking in our new Wellbeing garden, the work will take 2 weeks and will open up the garden for us to begin work in the different areas.

On Tuesday this week our elected class ambassadors will meet as the school council for the first time. We also welcome Mrs Harrison who will be taking photos of our new classes to use around school. We will also be welcoming Simon to lead our worship time on this week’s theme, which is ‘Determination’.

Wednesday sees Mrs Bassingdale from St Aidan’s working in school during the morning; She will be working with a range of classes to deliver PE lessons throughout the year. After school on Wednesday a number of our sports clubs begin, this includes our sport and wellbeing club being run by the team from Sporting Influence.

On Thursday our Community Ambassadors, who work on Fairtrade and Local Community Activities will hold their first meeting of the year.

The end of the week sees our Environmental Ambassador Group holding their first meeting. At 2.30 out Friends group will be holding their first player group meeting in the staffroom, all are welcome to join the group. At 2.45 chosen children will be enjoying tea and cake for outstanding good manners and excellent behaviour.

Please note the Macmillan Coffee Morning will take place on Friday 27th as planned in the hall from 9am. Please be aware that some of the local roads will be closed for the World Cycling Championships from 10.30 that morning so please check your journey home from the coffee morning if you are coming to join us for a coffee.

Finally, thank you to Angela, ASDA’s community champion who has provide the school will a large amount of stationary for the children to enjoy.
