This is my last blog post of the autumn term and so I would like to begin by thanking all of the parents and friends of the school who have done so much to make this a successful and enjoyable first term at RTS.

The last week promises to be as busy as the rest of the term so far. On Monday morning we welcome Claire Bassingdale from St Aidan’s to RTS. She will be leading PE sessions for children in some of our classes in the Hall. Monday afternoon sees the start of our Christmas Parties with Ribblesdale and Dentdale enjoying themselves in the afternoon. If you have any questions about your child’s party date please contact the office.

On Tuesday Wharfedale, Wensleydale and Coverdale will be holding their party in the afternoon whilst after school one of the most popular concerts of the year will be held in the hall when the Choir and Orchestra perform for family and friends; the concert starts at 6pm. Tuesday morning sees the school hold its annual service of reflection and candle light where each class shares its hopes for the new year.

Wednesday sees Airedale and Bishopdale enjoy their party in the morning with Nidderdale and Swaledale holding their party in the afternoon.

On Thursday at 10am the school will be holding its annual Carol Service at St John’s Church; the theme this year is ‘Angels’. All are welcome to join us for what is always a very festive occasion.

Friday is the last day of the autumn term and after festive carols around the tree we finish at 2.15pm for the Christmas holidays.

Please remember that Monday 6th January is a teacher training day and so the first day of the Spring Term for children will be Tuesday 7th January. Apologises to this week’s yellow jumper winners, I will endeavour to take their photographs next week.

Finally There is an update on the new entrance in the final newsletter of the year which will be sent out next week.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy, peaceful and safe Christmas.
