We start the last full week of this academic year with the final Bikeability Sessions on both Monday and Tuesday for the children in Wharfedale and Wensleydale. This will include those children whose session was cancelled due to bad weather last week.
On Tuesday our year six will welcome visitors to the school for the summer community tea; the choir will perform at the tea before they join with our orchestra to hold their Summer Serenade Concert in the hall at 6pm. This is one of the biggest concerts of the year and a highlight in our calendar.
After school on Tuesday the children from Ribblesdale and Dentdale will be holding a cake sale to raise money for the Hedgehog Hospital.
On Wednesday afternoon the children in Bishopdale and Airedale will be performing their special Wedding Concert for parents as they celebrate the upcoming wedding of Miss Hatfield. After the performance there will be an opportunity for parents in EYFS to have a transition visit to their child’s new year one class for September 2017.
Thank you to all the parents from Ribblesdale Class who attended the performance last week; they have raised the money needed to sponsor a panda which is great is great news; especially for the panda!
All of this week the children in year 6 will be rehearsing their special leavers service; this will include a rehearsal at St John’s Church on Friday morning.
The friends prayer group will have their final meeting in the staffroom on Friday afternoon; all are welcome to attend and if you wish to remember someone in prayer please leave a note in the prayer box situated on the wall in the main entrance.
End of year reports and SAT scores will be sent out on Wednesday of this week; having read every report and knowing pupil results I know that there will be many happy mums and dads.
Finally congratulations to our rounders team who came equal 3rd in the regional finals last week; thank you to all the staff and parents who supported the teams.
The photographs below show our yellow jumper winners from last week; the Romans from Nidderdale and Swaledale and the fantastic cake enjoyed by the children in year 6 at their leavers’ disco last Friday.
