Before we look ahead to another busy week I would like to congratulate Fraser Tunstall for his wonderful fundraising efforts. On Thursday last week he organised a fun run to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice. Over 40 children from school joined him to complete the run and together they completed 836 laps. Through his just giving page Fraser has raised £1600 so far which is an amazing effort!

This week we welcome Angela Smith, ASDA’s community champion, who will be working with Bishopdale to sample different fruits. After school on Monday the Friends will be having their final cake sale of the year with the children from Coverdale, Wharfedale and Wensleydale baking the cakes for sale. At 6pm on Monday we will be having our information evening for new parents in the hall.

On Tuesday we welcome Gillian Houghton from the Methodist Chapel who will be leading our worship. After school on Tuesday our Choir will be holding their summer concert in the hall for friends and parents starting at 6pm.

Wednesday sees our year six children heading off on their 3 day residential visit to Winmarleigh Hall, fingers crossed for good weather during their visit. Back at school Bishopdale and Airedale will be holding a joint picnic and activity afternoon on the school field.

After school on Wednesday we are delighted to begin a partnership with Harrogate Town who will be running a 4 week after school football club for children in year 3 and year 4. There is still time to get your football permission slip back to school for Monday. 26 places are available and those successful in getting a place will be informed on Monday.

A reminder to everyone that this year’s Sports Day will be held on Monday 25th June starting at 1.15pm. If bad weather causes a postponement all parents will be informed by 10am on Monday morning.

Our gardening club will be told on Monday this week if their veg box has successfully made it through to the Great Yorkshire Show finals in July.

The photos below show last week’s yellow jumper winners and our yr 5/6 cricket group who played at Bilton Cricket Club last week.
