Welcome Back, I hope that you managed to enjoy half term, even though it was a little wet in places.

Last half term was a busy one, especially with the visit of Jonny Brownlee and the next half term looks even busier with World Book Day and Fairtrade Fortnight to celebrate as well as the Friends ‘Bunny Bounce’ Fundraiser and all of our Easter Celebrations.

The first week is full of activity, on Monday we have week four of our sports numeracy programme, it is our valentines lunch and in the afternoon all of the children will listen to a talk on the importance of water safety. After school it is week four of Harrogate Theatre’s Drama Club.

On Tuesday we welcome Mr Green to lead our worship at 1.15pm. On Wednesday Mrs Saunderson will be holding Hockey club at lunchtime, after school it is week three of TAG Rugby Club. After school on Thursday it is week two of our popular chess club. Also on Thursday Dentdale Class will be leading whole school worship on the theme of forgiveness which is our value for this half term.

On Friday our mental maths team will accompany Mrs Crisell to the annual Harrogate School’s Maths Competition. Friday is also the last day for entries in the Bilton and Woodfield Library Bookmark Competition. There are still a few spare bookmark templates available from the school office.

Before half term all of the children in year two and above were given the Christian Aid’s Lent Calendar for 2018. Each day provides a focus for the children to count their blessings. This week the focus is on safe homes, I hope that you find the resource useful.

The photos below show the winners of last week’s yellow jumpers and some of the children from Nidderdale who were planting trees at school with Ian Johnson and the groundworks team on the last day of half term.
