Before we look forward to this week we must congratulate Mr Ward who has completed his solo fundraising journey from York to Whitby by a boat built of plastic bottles. It has been an amazing and challenging journey and we are all incredibly proud of his efforts in fundraising for the school. There is still time to make a donation via his just giving page. After his journey Mr Ward has gone straight back to work but he will be visiting the school so that we can properly celebrate his achievements in a with a non-uniform day in the near future.
We also need to congratulate the children from Year 5 and 6 who led last week’s Education Sunday Service at St John’s Bilton brilliantly.
This week sees the NSPCC in school on Monday to talk to all of the children as part of their important ‘Stay Safe’ campaign.
On Tuesday we welcome Mr Green to lead our worship and the school council will meet for the first time on Wednesday at 1pm. During the afternoon Ribblesdale Class will be visiting the local allotments to see what is growing before the harvest.
After school on Wednesday at team of mixed year3/4 footballers will take part in our 1st sporting competition of the year when the take part in a football tournament organised by Sporting Influence. This will be the 1st of four Wednesdays when the children will play friendlies against other schools. The Tournament will take place at Harrogate High School between 3.30 and 4.15pm.
Thursday sees the school hold the first class based worships of the year and it is also the second week of both Tag Rugby and Netball clubs after school. It is also the second week of Wednesdays Street Dance Club and the first week of Choir after school on Tuesday.
All of this means that the school feels like it ahs properly started the year.
