Monday 1st June 2020 will certainly go down as one of the most important in the long history of Richard Taylor School. If you are returning to school we look forward to welcoming you back. We will do our very best to get everyone into the right door; please remember that we will be operating a one way system outside school with the Hall Lane Gate being our entrance and the Bilton Lane Gate being our exit point. We are sure that after day one everything will become clear. Mrs Crisell and myself will be in the playground to guide you to the correct class base.

If you are still at home please know that you are all in our thoughts and we look forward to the day when we can see you back at school.

The theme for everyone’s learning this week is books and authors; if you want to see what the staff have been reading click the link below and take a look. Thanks to Mrs Wake for creating the video.

Everyone should receive the latest newsletter on Monday which is full of information about what has been happening at RTS and what the summer term will look like in the first few weeks. If your child has been chosen as the super pupil for their class during lockdown they will receive their certificate as soon as we can get them to you.

Our Wednesday worship will be available for everyone to enjoy and is on the theme of ‘Being Brave’

Like everyone, we are waiting for further guidance regarding the rest of the school year and how phase two of the government’s plan to exit lockdown will effect Richard Taylor School. As soon as we have an update we will share our plans with you.

Finally Mrs Phelan has shared the Kindness Calendar for this week with me, the theme for the week is Art and Kindness, see Monday’s activity below

Today, research a piece of art that you like, and write a small response to it. This can be anything from the Mona Lisa to a drawing that one of your siblings made. The important thing is to take the time to look at the piece of art, and to try to understand why you like it. When you write your response, try to focus on the feelings and meaning that the artwork gives you.

Stay safe
