With SAT week over for the children in year six we have one more week before half term and we are squeezing a huge amount into the last 5 days of the year.

One of the things that we are doing this week is thinking about the waste that we produce as a school. This is something that the children are passionate about and so during waste week three classes will be leading worship times for the rest of the school as we try to reduce the waste we produce. On Friday some of the children who are our Eco Ambassadors will be visiting Angela at ASDA who will be showing the children how the supermarket recycles its waste.

On Monday we are delighted to welcome Cameron Osburn to lead our worship time. Cameron is responsible for the creation of adversity united, the youth football team which supports children with additional needs. Many of our children have benefitted from his work and we look forward to seeing him visit RTS.

Tuesday has a very sporting theme, Claire Bassingdale from St Aidan’s will be bringing her sports leaders to work with our children in PE. During the afternoon Children from school will be taking part in the Quad Kids Athletics event, good luck to all of our competitors.

Our gardeners will be making another visit to the allotment where their vegetables are growing beautifully thanks to the support of Mr Groves.

Simon will be leading our worship time on Tuesday at the end of our focus on prayer called ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ which has been a huge success in school.

On Wednesday Airedale Class will be visiting the York Castle Museum.

After school at 6pm we will be holding a Maths Parents Evening for any parent who wants to know more about how to support their child develop fluency in maths with particular reference to times tables. We are very lucky to have Mrs Crisell at school who is a true expert in this area of the curriculum; please come along and support the event which will last for approximately an hour.

The choir will be holding their practice on Wednesday between 2-3pm instead of Tuesday after school this week.

On Thursday Vicky Lever will be speaking to the children in yr6 about the youth club facilities in Bilton.

Have a wonderful half term when it arrives
