I hope that everyone had a great Easter and managed to find an egg to enjoy. This is always a very busy and enjoyable term and I hope that we get the sunshine to go with it. Over the Easter break the school featured as school of the week in the Harrogate Advertiser, if you missed it the article should still be on their website.

Monday is a training day for all staff and so the new term starts on Tuesday 25th of April. On Thursday we will be having a non-uniform day when we ask children to bring in chocolate leftover from Easter for the friends to use on the chocolate tombola at the Bilton Gala which takes place on 1st of May on the school field.

The friends prayer group will meet in the staffroom on Friday 28th April at 2.30pm; it is open to anyone who wishes to attend. If you are unable to attend but would like to provide the friends with a focus for prayer you can now leave a note in the prayer box which Mr Gibbons has made and is now in the school entrance for anyone who wishes to leave a prayer.

The school will be joining with our friends from Bilton Grange and Woodfield School’s to join the Bilton Gala parade. The theme is the 70’s and it is not too late to come and join us. You can either complete the slip sent out before Easter or let the office know before Friday. The school will be closed for May Day and if you are coming to the Gala please make sure that you call in to the friends chocolate tombola stall.

Looking ahead to the following week there will be an additional book fair on Thursday 4th May during the afternoon where all books will be half price.

I would also like to welcome Mrs Rodney who joins the staffing team as a teaching assistant in Airedale Class replacing Mrs Flower who retired at the end of the Spring Term, I’m sure that you will join me in making her feel very welcome.

The photos below show the yellow jumper winners from the last week of last term and the photo of Airedale Class with Mrs Flower at her special leavers service.
