This is a week of exciting events at RTS. On Monday the children from year 4, 5 and 6 will take part in an aging awareness. On Tuesday the children from Dentdale and Ribblesdale will be heading to the Royal Armouries in Leeds to learn more about knights and Castles. Back at school on Tuesday the children from Airedale, Swaledale and Bishopdale will take part in the ‘Chance to Shine’ cricket coaching scheme supported by the ECB. After school the KS1 science club led by our science ambassadors and the wellbeing club will take place as normal.

On Wednesday we have a first at RTS when we welcome the children from Nepal who are in Harrogate to take part in the ‘Kids Aloud’ at the weekend. We are looking forward to giving them a very warm Yorkshire welcome. I also want to thank Mrs Wake for the incredible amount of hard work, energy and enthusiasm, which she has put into this and all of the school’s musical projects. Thank you to all of the children and their very supportive parents who taken them to practices across Harrogate. After school our choir will be joined by the children from Nepal and the children from Bilton Grange for a very special choir practice.

On Thursday we welcome the St John’s playgroup to our fields for a visit.

After school it our year one, two footballers will be taking part in the Harrogate Schools Tournament at St John Fishers. After school Street Dance Club will take place in Wharfedale as usual.

On Friday CGN will be teaching the children in KS2 how to calculate their carbon footprint. We also welcome the head of year seven from Harrogate High School as we begin the process of preparing for transition to high schools in September 2019.

The Kids Aloud Concert takes place on Saturday at 7pm in the Royal Hall, good luck to everyone taking part.
