We are looking forward to another busy week as we approach the Christmas season.

On Monday our Fairtrade group will be meeting to plan their stall for the Christmas Fair. During our worship time on Monday we will welcome the community police team who will be handing out prizes to all of the children from year 5 and 6 who entered the road safety poster competition. We are also pleased that Matthew Lunn will be joining us to lead our prayers.

On Tuesday Ian Johnson from Seeds to Schools will be returning to work with the children from Swaledale Class. They will be planting trees around school and in pots which the children will be able to decorate and take home. After school on Tuesday the mixed year 3 and 4 football team will be participating in this year’s tournament. On Wednesday the children from year 5 and 6 will be participating in week 3 of their football event at Harrogate High School.

Thursday sees everyone from school head up to St John’s church for our Advent Service on the theme of journeys. The service will start at 1.15pm and parents are welcome. The Reverend Simon Dowson will be leading the service for us. Thursday will see the return of the Pasada to school with one child a night being given the responsibility of looking after our knitted Mary and Joseph as they journey through December to Bethlehem. The year 3 ICT club on Thursday will be finishing their digital advent calendars.

Finally on Friday we will be holding our non-uniform day when children are asked to bring in chocolate which will be used on the chocolate tombola stall at the Christmas Fair. The children in Wharfedale and Wensleydale will continue with their dance workshops led by Mrs Zealand.

Finally after school we will be decorating the school hall ready for Christmas. If you have decorated your wishing star it will be displayed in the hall. The magnificent Christmas tree has kindly been donated by Roots and Fruits. Their generosity is incredibly generous and is enjoyed by everyone during the festive season.
