We have made it to the first week of February and the good news is that it looks like this week will be a snow free one.

Monday sees the first Bags2School collection of 2019. After school is week 5 of the Harrogate Theatre Drama Club.

Tuesday is national ‘Safer Internet Day’; classes in school will be taking part in special lessons and activities to mark the day. This is a good opportunity to remind everyone that the school website has a page full of useful information and web links to support parents who want to learn more about helping their children to stay safe on line. Also on Tuesday is a special lunch to celebrate Chinese New Year.

On Wednesday the children in Swaledale and Nidderdale will be holding a special science morning to investigate the properties of water and ice. After school on Wednesday it is week 3 of the Tchouckball event at Harrogate High School.

We look forward to welcoming our new local police community support officer to school on Thursday morning. PCSP Mark Cahill will be introducing himself to the children and will be around school during morning drop off. Please remember to park safely when dropping anyone off at school; we have unfortunately noticed an increase in cares parking on the zig-zag warning lines particularly down Hall Lane. As well as being illegal it also places everyone at greater risk of an accident. Giving yourself 5 more minutes to find a safe spot to park or pull up is always the best choice, thank you.

Please note that there is no street dance club after school on Thursday this week.

Look out for a special newsletter coming out later this week that will have more information on how you can get involved in the exciting new wildlife garden project that we are planning.

The photographs below show last week’s yellow jumper winners and children enjoying the snowy conditions in school at the end of last week.
