The school has made it to the last week of a very busy and successful spring term. The last week is still a very busy one with lots to enjoy before the Easter holidays.

This week starts with the school welcoming two French students to school. They are in the UK as part of the St Aidan’s exchange programme and they will have the opportunity to learn a little bit more about schools in the UK during their time with us; I am sure that everyone will make them very welcome. In the afternoon on Monday all of the children in school will come together to learn more about ‘Women of Faith’ as part of the Big RE session which we call ‘Shine and Share’.

On Tuesday the children and staff will come together for a very special service of quiet reflection before Easter when they think about thinks that they would like to say sorry for. In the afternoon on Tuesday we welcome our friends from the local community to join us for our spring community tea where they will be entertained by children from key stage two and enjoy a performance from the choir.

Wednesday sees the whole of key stage one learn more about the Easter Story as they follow the story through during their Easter Day. It is also the Easter lunch on Wednesday for everyone to enjoy.

On Thursday Airedale Class will welcome their parents to join them for an Easter brunch between 10 and 11am. After school Mrs Zealand will hold her street dance club.

Parents evenings will be held on Wednesday and Thursday after school; if you have not had your appointment time please contact the school office.

The big event on the last day of term is our Easter Service at St Johns’ starting at 10am; everyone is welcome to join our celebration and it would be lovely to see you there.

Please remember that we finish for the Easter break at 2.15pm and that Monday 29th April is a staff training day with school re-opening for the summer term on Tuesday 29th April.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Easter and leave you with a prayer from our Easter Service.

Headteacher

Dear God,

As the sun warms our earth this Easter

As we enjoy the good things you give us

The chocolate sweet

The hot cross buns juicy

The cakes full of sweet spices

Help us to remember the story of Easter

To think about the things we do wrong

To promise to change the way we live our lives

and live as followers of the risen Jesus.

Amen.
