We have to celebrate the achievements of last week before we look ahead to the week ahead. The children in year 6 performed their musical superbly on two occasions last week. Photos should appear shortly on the school website. The children in Yr5 and 6 also managed to win the regional rounders tournament. Sharing the Trophy with Willow Tree following a thrilling 9 ½ all draw in the final.

This week starts with the children in year 6 enjoying their leaver’s disco on Monday starting at 6.30 in the school hall.

On Tuesday the children in Airedale and Bishopdale will be performing a sing-along for their parents starting at 2pm.

Wednesday is the busiest day of the week as we welcome the author Tom Palmer to school where he will be holding workshops for children in KS2. Tom writes football themed books which is perfect timing considering the event taking place at 7pm on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday our veg box team will be attending the Great Yorkshire Show to meet the judges who will be selecting the winner of the annual veg box competition. After school the yr5/6 cricket team will be heading to Bilton Cricket Club for their final session of the year. On the school field Harrogate Town will be holding week 4 of their year 3/4 football club.

The children from year 6 will be visiting their new schools on different days over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with all children out on Thursday. Our new starters 2018 will be making their last transition visit to school on Thursday afternoon. The rest of the children will move around to meet their new teachers for a session on Thursday.

Finally on Friday Mrs Zealand will be in on Friday morning to help the year 6 children rehearse their dance for the leavers’ service which will take place on Friday of next week.

A reminder that the chocolate tombola stall will be at St John’s Fete on Saturday 15th July between 11-2pm If you can help the friends please let the office know.

The photos below show yellow jumper winners, the winning yr3/4 quad kids team and the veg box before it was collected for the show.
