5th June 2015

Dear Parents

Summer Letter 3

Staffing News

I am writing with important news regarding the appointment of a new teacher for Wharfedale class. The governors have appointed Mrs Karen Saunderson to replace Miss Stockmann from September 2015. Mrs Saunderson is an outstanding practitioner who impressed everyone involved in the appointment process. She will be an excellent addition to the team and I am sure that you will join me in welcoming her to the team at Richard Taylor.

Governors

Mrs Linda Williams, a long serving Foundation Governor, has announced her decision to retire from the Governing Body at the end of the school year. Mrs Williams has been an outstanding governor who has played a vital role in the development of the school over recent years. I would like to put on record my thanks to Mrs Williams for her support and guidance over the years. Her replacement as Foundation Governor will be nominated by the PCC at St. John’s Chuch and will join the Governing Body in the Autumn Term.

Leavers

As well as Miss Stockmann and Mrs Sarah Harrison, who are leaving us at the end of term, Mrs McLaren has informed me that she will be retiring from her post as Midday Supervisor at the end of this term. Mrs McLaren has done a wonderful job in all weathers and we wish her a happy retirement.

We are always on the look out for new plants to fill in gaps in the beds of our Peace Garden. Please let the school office know if you have a plant to donate. We will also be asking for summer holiday help with some garden weeding. Please look out for the information slip before the end of the year.

Quadkids Update

The Quadkids athletics event was cancelled due to bad weather on Tuesday 2nd June. The organisers will be arranging a visit to school when they will do time trials on all our athletics. These times and distances will be compared to the results of other schools to find a winning school. Good luck to all our athletes.

Our detailed information evening for new parents will be taking place on Tuesday 16th June at 6 p.m. All new parents have been invited but if you know of any new parents please remind them.
