This week in Ribblesdale we have been reading the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. We have really enjoyed joining in and acting it all out. We know the story really well and have even found lots of adjectives in it! Ask us what an adjective is at home.

In phonics this week, our Year 2’s have made some fantastic posters to help us with our best guess when using the ‘er/ir/ur’ sound. Our Year 1’s have ventured into the tricky world of split digraphs. They have already made brilliant progress and are spotting the a_e sound all over!

In mathematics we’ve all been practising our number bonds to 10 as these help us in our lots of our mathematical learning. Our Y2’s have learned that the ‘x’ sign means ‘times’, ‘multiplied’ and ‘equal groups of’. Our Y1’s have been learning all about positional language. We’ve learned our ordinal numbers and our left and right.

We all really enjoyed our picnic in Science. We have been thinking lots about what makes a balanced diet and planned our picnic with this in mind. When choosing our food we all picked a well balanced meal. It was very tasty!

Today is Mrs Groves’ birthday! She hasn’t been in school today, but we did make sure to sing her a happy birthday whilst she was here yesterday. We are all very grateful for how much she helps us to learn and the way she looks after us. She definitely deserved to be star of the day!
