To All Parents,
I can confirm that Richard Taylor School will be closed today, Wednesday 28th Feb, due to weather conditions.
We very rarely close but based on current conditions and the forecast for the day I do not want staff and children making journeys to school on roads that could well become increasingly difficult.
There will be a number of staff who have volunteered to walk to school to be there in case parents have not received the message.
All parents have been informed by text, if you did not receive this message please let us know. Stray FM were contacted early and NYCC informed.
I felt it important to make the decision with enough time to prevent people heading out onto the roads.
All clubs and after school events have been postponed.
I would also like to thank Mr Gibbons for the amazing job that he has done gritting and snow clearing.
Unless conditions change dramatically from the forecast we will be open on Thursday 1st March.
