Dear Swaledale,

We are sorry that we cannot be teaching you at the moment because school has had to close.

It is important to remember that while we are not at school, we need to be mindful about our 5 steps of wellbeing.

  • Be Active
  • Take Notice
  • Connect
  • Give
  • Keep Learning

Try to get out into the fresh air and exercise every day. You might like to go for a walk or a bike/scooter ride.

Non-screen activities to do at home

We have included an ideas sheet. Please get involved with activities around the house and in the garden for example preparing meals, completing chores, gardening etc.

Reading

Enjoy reading a range of books, comics and magazines. You can also access books online that are available from the Oxford Owl website. www.oxfordowl.co.uk.

Writing

Keep a daily diary about your time away from school – write about what you get up to, your thoughts and feelings. You might also like to write a letter to a friend.

It is helpful if you can complete writing on lined paper and take care to form your letters correctly.

Maths

Keep visiting TT Rockstars to smash those times tables. We would like you to particularly focus on your 3s, 4s and 8s times tables. Once you have learnt your multiplication facts can you practice them as division facts.

Example

If you know 2 x 4 = 8

You also know 4 x 2 = 8

You also know 8 ÷ 2 =4

You also know 8 ÷ 4 = 2

SeeSaw and our class blog

Please look on our class blog for weekly updates via our school website www.rtsharrogate.com

Most excitingly, check out our online learning activities on the SeeSaw App. We will be posting learning tasks and messages to you each week. This will be a fantastic opportunity to practise things you have already been shown. You can access SeeSaw using the learning codes which have been sent home.

Mrs Heard and Mrs Norman will be checking class messages through the Seesaw app during school days. Please keep in touch and ask if you need anything.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you when we return to school.

Take care, keep busy and stay smiling!
