Hello Swaledale,

Well done, you have completed your first week of learning from home.

We have been incredibly impressed by the way you are using Seesaw to complete activities. It has been wonderful seeing photos, videos and pictures to show us the things you have been doing. We are so glad that lots of you have enjoyed spending time enjoying the sunshine.

If any families are having technical problems accessing Seesaw please contact the school office via email admin@richardtaylor.ycway.uk .

Here are some of the activities Swaledale have been getting up to this week:

Maths

We have been learning to recognise fractions and looking at making whole numbers. We have used the wonderful resources available on the White Rose website https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/. This week we have focussed on lessons 1 & 2.

Please also remember to complete your times table books daily. This week we have been practicing our 3 x tables. You can also do further practice using TT Rockstars.

Literacy

Some of the children have written some fantastic book reviews and shared some diary entries. We have also been reading about Tutankhamun and answering questions about what we have read.

Please keep reading books, comics and magazines. Remember you can also access online reading material from Oxford Owl. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

Science

Some children have had a go at the ‘Science with Ice’ experiment. It has been fantastic seeing your photos. We have also been impressed that some children have set up and conducted their own science investigations. Here is the link to the ‘Science with Ice’ experiment if you fancy having a go. https://pstt.org.uk/application/files/9315/8513/5527/1._Science_with_Ice.pdf

Rainbows

Many Swaledale children have created their own colourful rainbows and some children have displayed these in their homes.
