It has been a busy week in Swaledale and all of the children have impressed us with their hard work.

As part of our History topic ‘Victorians’, we have been finding out about the changes to transport in the Victorian era. We have used this knowledge to write our own information page.

In Maths, we have be using column method to solve subtractions. This week our subtractions have needed us to exchange the tens into ones.

On Wednesday, we started our new Science topic, Electricity. The children were fantastic at sorting pictures of electrical items based on whether they are powered by mains or battery. We discovered some items such a mobile phones fit into both categories.

On Thursday, it was our book fair. Any books that were not available on the day have been ordered. The children will receive these soon.

A big thank you to everyone for your generous donations to ‘Children in Need’. All of the children in Swaledale had a fantastic time watching the ‘Children in Need Duck Race 2020’. We were extremely excited when our class duck ‘Quackman and Bobbin’ won the race.
