Hello Swaledale Superstars!

We hope you have had a restful couple of weeks over the Easter holidays.

This week we are starting our week off inspired by the video Mrs Wake has put together set to the song ‘Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIqOGEzKuOw&feature=youtu.be

It fits in with our whole school theme this week which is our environment and positive changes.

Some suggested activities for you are…

* Listen to the song and fill in the missing words (see template attached on Seesaw.)

* How did the song make you feel? Could you have a go at changing the lyrics or writing your own verse? Maybe you might like to record yourself singing the song.

* Write down why you think our world is wonderful, think particularly about your local environment and/or what positives we can take from much of the world being in lockdown.

In the Bible:

Genesis 1:26
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Psalm 8:6
You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority.

* RE: How can we as humans take better care of our world and everything in it? (This links nicely with Earth Day on Wednesday) Maybe you could make a poster, write a poem or create a powerpoint.

* What changes have you noticed in nature in your local area in the recent weeks? Are there any blossom trees, birds nesting, different flowers growing? Tell us about them/take photos or draw a picture.

* Could you design a poster/painting/collage inspired by the theme ‘What a Wonderful World’ (see example attached on Seesaw.)

* Can you make a wordart picture using https://wordart.com/

* Make your own globe using papier mâché (see template attached in Seesaw for instructions.)

* Can you find out some facts about our wonderful town/school/local area? (You could Google Harrogate facts for kids as a start.)

* What are you looking forward to most when we come back together as a school?

Also there are lots of daily lessons on BBC Bitesize (we will put some links to these on Seesaw) https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons

Have fun- we’ll look forward to seeing your work! 😊
