This week saw the children in Swaledale and Nidderdale embark on a journey that took them around the world and back in time. The trip to the Chocolate Story was a real success and the children discovered all about the history of chocolate and were fascinated at how York was such (and still is) a chocolate centre. They got the opportunity to learn about the science behind making chocolate as well as getting involved in making and designing their very chocolate bar that wouldn’t look out of place in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory! There will soon be photos of the trip on the Flickr website so please check back there.

In other news, we have had a successful week in school learning skills to help us with our mental addition and subtraction. We have been practising our KIRF target which is: to know addition and subtraction facts for numbers 0-20.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog!
