Last week was a very busy week!

Events this week

This week we have had a visit from the new bishop of North Yorkshire. It’s the first woman bishop.

We had fire alarm practise and the fire services came in to do an assembly about fire safety and bonfire night.

We also had photos for the school calendar which you can buy for 2018.

On Monday we had the bonfire lunch which was mash potato with sausages or veggie sausages. For pudding it was parkin, which is a mix between flapjack and ginger bread.

On Wednesday, we watched Coverdale’s class worship on Peace, one of our school values.

Our Book Fair was on Thursday and some of us brought money into school to buy a book.

On Friday, Mr Symonds did a special Remembrance worship, where we had our one minute silence.

In the afternoon, we had a special guest, who told us about his great great grandfather and how he saved people in the war by being a stretcher bearer.

In P.E

We have Sporting Influence come to our school to teach us every week. On Wednesday, we started off with a warm-up game called Frogs, Royalty and Superheroes. After that, we played one round of Steal the Cones and a few rounds of Crossover – we really enjoyed it. Mrs Bassindale, our gymnastics teacher, comes in every other Tuesday to show us how to do gymnastics. We have learned to do rolls, shapes and tucks. We really have enjoyed doing PE with these teachers.

In Science

We wrote a section about solids, liquids and gases. We also experimented with condensation and evaporation.

In English

We have been thinking about Via’s point of view in Wonder and decided to write a letter to Grans so Via can let loose her feelings.

In Maths

We have been thinking about multiplying and dividing using a formal written method and also we have been doing the bus stop method.
