Welcome back!

We hope that you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year with your family.

English:

In English we are basing our work on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. We did a punctuation sheet based on a passage from Harry Potter. We watched a section of Harry Potter and debated how Harry’s Aunt Petunia has been treating Harry. We have also advertised a wand that we have designed ourselves.

Maths:

In our Maths we have started our new KIRFS (Key Instant Recall Facts.) Our topic in KIRFS is doubling and halving. We have also been adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions.

Science:

In Science we have been studying the poem Chocolate by Michael Rosen and also have been seeing how the chocolate melted when we scrunched a bit of milky way in our hands.

Homework:

Mental Maths

Spellings

Reading 5 times a week.

Homophones sheet.

P.E

This week in P.E Mrs Bassendale showed us how to do cartwheels and we have competed against Wharfedale in our Inter School competition. Wharfedale won but we still had an amazing time!
