Wensleydale 21st September

This week in Wensleydale we have been working very hard on our Wall E topic and been focusing on all subjects.

English

In English this week we have been focusing on our big write about Wall E. On Thursday we were writing out and thinking of personification pieces of writing. On another day we did our big write with the paragraphs of sights, weather, smells and sounds. The vocabulary we used was personification, negative language and double adjectives.

Maths

In maths this week we have been dividing and multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 we have enjoyed it a lot. This week have also been doing sums mentally like 1238.11 +1264.11 =2502.22. We have also been doing mental methods along with jottings. The last thing we have been doing is adding whole numbers with 4 digits.

Science

In science this week we have been doing about the Sun, the Earth and the Moon. On Tuesday we did an experiment about shadows. We had a lego brick and a hula hoop we also had a torch to be the sun and a piece of paper to mark on the shadows.

Visitor

On Tuesday we had a visitor from the NSPCC. She talked to us about who could help us with a problem. She showed us how to remember Childline’s number (which is 0800 1111.)
