Wharfedale

Blog

This week has been an amazing week in Wharfedale; we have been busy doing lots of exciting things.

In English, we have been doing descriptions of the Harry Potter characters. We have learnt what makes a good description without giving away to many clues to who the character is. In groups, we worked together to create a good paragraph to describe a person in preparation for doing our own.

In Maths, we have been working on fractions and whole numbers. We have completed calculations like this:

2/3 of 4. 7/8 of 16.

Also, we have joined the Big Schools Bird Watch that was set up by the RSPB. The aim is to encourage children to get more involved and interested in birds. We have learnt how to tell the difference between birds and the most common garden birds of 2017.

Last week, we did a special capture the flag competition between Wharfedale and Wensleydale. Wharfedale was split into 2 teams and so was Wensleydale. Every team played everyone else and the team with the most points won. (Wharfedale won) You got 5 points for a win, 3 points for a draw and 0 points for a loose.
