To all of our lovely Wharfedale Wonders,

I hope you are all well and keeping active for the second week in June.

What a lovely week we have had in school with the reception, year 1 and key worker children. It was great seeing so many children playing on the field laughing (social distancing of course). You are all still in my thoughts and prayers though – I haven’t forgotten you all.

THIS WEEK OUR THEME IS – SPORTS

“The only way to prove that you’re a good sport is to lose.”– Ernie Banks

This week’s theme is one where we can use so many of our school values, both inside and outside school.

For those of you who are working from home, one of the ‘extras’ on our timetable is to design a new sports day activity for Sports Day 2021. Both Mrs Warburton and I will be judging and choosing a winner, so watch this space. Have a look on Seesaw for further information.

Not only could you do the above designing activity, you could also look at the new Summer Term Personal Best Daily Challenges from Harrogate School Sports Partnership as it launches today. These challenges have been developed by children from schools in Harrogate (one of them could be yours). All of the challenges are explained in detail; they also have a recording sheet attached. In fact, some of them also have a video linked so you can see how it is done.

You can find the website page by following the link: https://www.harrogatessp.com/summer-term-personal-best-daily-challenges/

MyMaths

Maths this week is multiplying and dividing fractions. I am sure you will remember the song we sang ‘Keep, Change, Flip’ to help us when dividing fractions. See the link below:

Stay safe and healthy everyone.
