WHARFEDALE’S

BLOG

This week, we had a special picture taken for our calendar page. The photograph was sponsored by a company called Beauty by Claire.

In maths, we have been learning column multiplication and division using the bus stop method. We multiplied with numbers we wouldn’t work out mentally, such as: 191 x 13 = 2483

In Literacy, we have been looking at fronted adverbials. We have also been looking at the semi-colon and colon. The difference between a colon and a semi-colon is a colon has a longer pause. The weakest pause is a comma, then a semi-colon, then a colon and the strongest pause is a full stop.

In preparation for our RTS tea towel, we have been drawing face portraits of ourselves. Every student in school must draw a picture of their face and when they are done, it will be put on a tea towel, so when you leave school you can remember all of your classmates.

On Thursday, something very exciting happened at RTS. We had a visit from the first female Bishop of Ripon and four of the year six children gave her a tour of our school. The new Bishop of Ripon was selected by the Queen. We were very privileged to have her visit our school.
