Before we look ahead to what is a very busy week I would like to thank everyone who made our Harvest celebrations such a success last week. Thank you to all of the children, staff and parents who helped to make our Harvest Service such a great success; thank you to everyone who gave so donations of food so generously; thank you to the friends who made up the hampers and served teas on Friday and finally thank you to all of the children in year six who hosted our visitors wonderfully at our Harvest Tea. The whole week was a reflection of the values that make us special as a school community.

This week is our first parents’ consultation evening of the year and I look forward to seeing you on either Wednesday or Thursday after school.

On Monday our friends hold the first film night of the year after school for the children in Airedale and Bishopdale. Also after school on Monday is the Indoor Athletics Competition for year 5 and 6 held at Rossett Sports Centre; thank you to Mrs Saunderson and Mrs Warburton for organising the team. Good luck to all of the children taking part.

On Tuesday we welcome Matthew Lunn to lead our worship at 1pm, Matthew will also be talking to the children in year 5 and 6 about the youth club held at the Methodist Chapel. PCSO Nick Woods will be visiting the school on Friday to talk to some of our older children about the importance of cycle safety, particularly as the days get shorter.

If you regularly receive a copy of the Harrogate Advertiser you will have seen the photograph of our new starters and a fantastic article about Mr Ward who made his epic journey from York to Whitby to raise funds for school, there is still time to give via the just giving page. We are looking forward to celebrating Mr Ward’s great achievement when he comes to visit school and brings his boat with him.

Finally, thank you to everyone who donated to the fantastic work of the NSPCC during our recent sponsored event.

The photos below show our yellow jumper winners from last week as well as our Harvest gifts.

A Symonds
