This week sees the start of the school’s participation in the RSPB Big Bird Watch with every class in the school taking its turn over the next couple of weeks to observe and record the birds that use our school garden.

Monday sees the return of our sports numeracy programme after last week’s break for the panto. In the afternoon Airedale Class will welcome an arctic explorer who is coming to talk to them about life in cold places. After school it is week three of the Harrogate Theatre Drama Club. We will also be awarding the super pupil awards for January during our Monday worship.

On Tuesday the children from year 5 and 6 will be visiting the Yorkshire Show Ground where they have been invited to participate in the ‘Big Farmhouse Breakfast Experience.’ Once a year the education team from the showground invite a school to learn more about where our food comes from and this year we are lucky enough to have the experience. In the afternoon we welcome Matthew Lunn to school to lead our worship.

On Wednesday the school will welcome the school’s new diocesan advisor, Mr Simon Sloan, who will be coming to introduce himself to everyone. At lunchtime Mrs Saunderson will be taking Hockey club whilst after school the TAG Rugby Club will venture out onto the field with Mr Starkey and myself.

On Friday afternoon at 2.30pm the friends will be holding the latest prayer group in the staffroom; please remember all are welcome and if you cannot attend you can leave a prayer in the prayer box in the entrance. Also by popular demand we will be reintroducing afternoon tea on Friday afternoon for those children chosen for good manners during the week.

This week also sees the St John’s Panto performed on Thursday and Friday; good luck to all of those who have been involved in preparing for the shows.
