Welcome to the first week of Advent at RTS. After School on Monday, we will be holding our Advent Service at St John’s. The service begins at 4.30pm, if you wish to join the lantern procession up to church the procession starts at 4.20pm from RTS. The service is a very simple one but a wonderful way to begin the season of Advent. I look forward to seeing many of our families joining us for this year’s service, which will last for approximately 30 minutes. There will be a choir practise as usual in the hall prior to the procession starting.
On Tuesday, Mrs Wake will lead some of our choir will give a short performance of carols and Christmas songs for the elderly wellbeing group at the Bilton Wellbeing Hub between 11 and 11.30am. At 1.15pm we welcome the Rev Alan Crump to lead our worship time.
On Wednesday after school our fantastic year three footballers will be taking part in week four of the football matches at Harrogate High School,
I would like to thank all of the children taking part for the way in which they have represented the school so fantastically over the last 4 weeks.
Thursday is a busy day in school with Coverdale heading to Harlow Carr for a visit whilst back at school from 2pm the school hosts its community Christmas tea in the hall.
Friday is the biggest fundraising day in the school calendar with lots happening through the morning and after school. Thank you to all of the Friends who have worked so hard to get everything ready, I hope to see lots of people supporting the event after school.
I would also like to thank all of the friends who helped to organise the shopping and fizz evening at St John’s last week. It was a fantastic event and a great success.
All parents should have received their parent governor election information; please remember to get your votes in asap. I look forward to announcing the winner in due course.
Finally, thank you to all of the choir who sang so well at Fodder last week, they drew a large audience and were rewarded with hot chocolate for their efforts. Special mention must go to Mrs Wake for her hard work with our choir at this very busy time of year.
The photos show the some of the school council meeting the Mayor last week, our year three footballers and the yellow jumper winners from last week.
