We have another busy week to look forward to at RTS. On Monday the Friends of RTS will be having their first meeting of 2023. Beginning at 7pm in the staffroom with refreshments provided. I hope many of you can attend and offer support the fantastic work being done by the friends.
On Tuesday we welcome the team from St John’s as they lead our worship time on the theme of patience.
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Rothera back to school for the first of her ‘preparation days’ on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as she plans her return to Bishopdale Class after Half Term.
I am also really pleased to let everyone know that Mrs Owen is recovering well and will be back in Bishopdale next week.
The children in Wharfedale and Wensleydale were superb in their response to the learning that took place on regarding Holocaust Memorial Day last week. Last week also saw the children from across KS2 taking part in an important age awareness project where they learnt the importance of caring for the elderly and showing empathy for the challenges that they face. All these subjects help our children to learn the importance of being responsible citizens in society.
Wednesday 1st February is a day of national industrial action by members of the National Education Union. I have confirmed with parents that RTS will be open for all students on this date. I will provide everyone with further updates prior to the dates announced for further action.
The photos below show children from across KS2 enjoying the age awareness resources. It also shows our Yellow Jumper Winners from last week.
