With the Christmas tree in place it now feels as if the Christmas Season has truly begun and the events this week have a very festive feel. I need to thank Roots and Fruits for their fantastic generosity in donating our beautiful tree.

On Monday we will be holding our annual Christmas Community Tea for members of the community who enjoy an afternoon of festive singing and conversation with our year 6 children. Straight after school Mrs Saunderson will be taking year 5/6 children to the football tournament at HHS; this was the event postponed earlier in the year due to bad weather.

On Tuesday the friends will be putting together the hampers for our great hamper raffle; thank you to everyone who has given so generously. It already looks like this year’s fair is going to be a great success. On Friday doors to the hall will open at the end of the day. The children can bring £1 to school on the day if they wish to play the games made by the children in year 5 and 6. I look forward to seeing everyone at the fair. Don’t forget to come and get your reindeer food for Christmas Eve. After school on Tuesday Mr Starkey will be taking children from year 3 and 4 to the change for life at HGS.

On Wednesday and Thursday our Infant Nativity Performances will begin at 1.30pm in the hall. After school on Wednesday it is the last archaeology after school club and on Thursday it will be the last ICT club session.

On Friday Mrs Zealand is leading a dance session for children in Wharfedale and Wensleydale after which it will be full steam towards the Christmas Fair.

I have three community events to publicise.

On Sunday 11th December St John’s Church will be holding their Christingle services in aid of the Children’s Society at 4pm and 6pm. If you still have a candle collecting pot please return it to school this week of take it with you to the service.

On Thursday 15th November you have a choice of events. St Aidan’s at holding their Carol Service at 7.30pm Whist The Methodist Chapel are holding a community carol concert at Richard Taylor School at 7pm.

Finally I can reassure everyone that Bob is on the mend and was unable to attend the staff do due to a heavy cold.

The Photo below shows last week’s yellow jersey winners.
